Yesterday\’s discussions confirmed that although this is a very short consultation there is a genuine opportunity to provide input and to help make the final version as useful as possible for recruiters and client organisations.\”

The implementation of the Agency Worker Regulations will bring about a major shift in the way the temporary workforce operates and will see agencies and umbrella companies vary there business structure significantly. With some predicting the end of the temporary workforce, Andy Smith, the Head of Regulation and Employment Law at the Adecco Group has moved to reassure businesses by saying ‘there is no reason why they cannot continue to benefit from this valuable element of the workforce post October’.
According to Mr Smith “The publishing of the draft guidance offers a stark reminder to HR professionals that it is now just six months to go until the regulation comes into effect. It is essential that those organisations which have not already begun to assess the impact this regulation will have on their business and their staffing strategies take action to prepare. Using agency workers is a key strategy in workforce management for many businesses and by taking the necessary action now, there is no reason why they cannot continue to benefit from this valuable element of the workforce post October”
