The result of the General Election will be of major significance to UK Immigration policy. David Cameron has said that if the Conservatives win the Election they will impose an arbitrary cap on immigration in the ‘tens of thousands, rather than the hundreds of thousands’. With any future Government unable to do anything about migrants from within the EEA or Asylum Seekers, any cut in the level of immigration will be borne from Skilled (Tier 2) and Highly Skilled (Tier 1) workers.
